Shocking me once again, M woke up today determined to find the book on the back of the bilingual animals book by Rebecca Emberly. I wish books did not have advertisements for other books on their backs. Other books that we do not have while reading at night. I convinced M that we would go to the library tomorrow to look for it, but he argued with me all day that the children were not really at school but on vacation in the morning, etc.

I am sure that the negotiations are just going to get more complicated.

Meanwhile, on the preschool decision front, I am still the lone wolf mama insisting that there is no way I am sending M to that classroom that is segregated all day "preschool disabled." There is something wrong with labeling children at such a young age first of all. Second of all, it would bore him to tears. Thirdly, you don't learn social language by being spoken to in directives all day.

And we hope to preserve some of his creativity and not force him to watch others create coffee covered bears (see earlier post about a product that made me crazy). Someone should tell teachers to stop teaching the bear unit when the kids don't do the activities. Those people should also tell the teachers to let the children do their own art and not to put children's names on the work of teachers.
