no fear of those boardwalk rides

Latest and greatest here is that we took off for the weekend to the Jersey Shore. The motel was minutes away from that famous piece of coastline. The highlight for us was seeing M on the Pt Pleasant beach boardwalk filled with rides that he had no fear of and was even turned away because he wasn't tall enough yet. I went on the roller coaster with him a few times and on the "crazy bus" that looped in circles like a ferris wheel, and he went on the kiddie rides--the motorcycles and helicopters--by himself.

However, the crowded beach. . .was not as fun. On the second night at the motel there were some loud girls partying upstairs (I complained!). We were right by the office making it easy to speak with the owner after we were awoken.

We brought lots of good food, including an amazing chocolate babka, cherries, raspberries, strawberries and tons of chips, crackers, and Annie's bunnies for the road, making the trip much more enjoyable. Loving the ease of popping down to the beach on the first night, Mariano said he'd like to live by the beach. Mancora here we come. . .
